Bridgend College wins mental health award!

03/09/2018 00:00:00

Congratulations to Bridgend College on becoming the first educational establishment in Wales to receive an award as part of Mind’s Annual Workplace Wellbeing Index.

The mental health charity has recognised the college’s innovative approaches to supporting the wellbeing of staff and students, such as financial support meetings, free fruit for staff and students, and a weight loss and fitness programme.

The college also holds regular ‘Walk in my Shoes’ events, where staff and students attend talks from people in the community who have had traumatic personal experiences to gain a greater understanding of mental health problems.

Mind is a mental health charity that provides advice and support to help anyone experiencing a mental health problem. Its Wellbeing Workplace Index is a benchmark of best policy and practice and enables employers to find out where they’re doing well and where they could improve their approach to mental health in the workplace.

Could your business earn recognition for how it prioritises the mental health of its staff? Register your interest for the 2018/19 Annual Workplace Wellbeing Index.
