undefinedThe Great House Hotel

The much-loved, 470-year-old Great House Hotel in Laleston is set to welcome new owners Sanjeev Bhagotra and partner Elinor Roberts to the historic Tudor venue, as current long-time owners and Bridgend Business Forum members Stephen and Norma Bond step down to retire.

The renowned 13-bedroom, three-star luxury hotel, which includes Leicester’s Restaurant, bears little resemblance to the ruin that faced Mr and Mrs Bond in 1985.  With much of the roof missing, the Grade II-listed building was in virtual ruin and required extensive renovation by the couple.

Fast-forward 30 years and new owners Sanjeev and Elinor are taking over a hotel transformed, with the popular and luxury venue having built up an enviable reputation that has even been recognised by royalty, with Prince Charles staying there three times.

As the pair already own and run the popular 250-year-old Court Colman Manor Hotel and award-winning Bokhara Brasserie just a few miles away, they are no strangers to the hotel industry and Mr and Mrs Bond can be confident that their legacy will be left in safe hands.

As long-time members of the Bridgend Business Forum, both the Great House Hotel and Court Colman Manor are popular venues that contribute much to the local economy and we wish both couples the best of luck with their new ventures.
