ROCKWOOL UK receives Living Wage accreditation

06/11/2018 00:00:00

ROCKWOOL UK has received accreditation from the Living Wage Foundation to mark its commitment to pay the Living Wage.

The voluntary commitment includes paying all directly employed staff and third party contracted staff a minimum hourly rate of £8.75, or £10.20 in London.

Darryl Matthews, Managing Director at ROCKWOOL, said: “ROCKWOOL are extremely proud to be a Living Wage employer and to be making this announcement during Living Wage Week. As a business, we have paid employees above the minimum wage rates for many years and this accreditation demonstrates our commitment to paying the real Living Wage in the long term, and to extend that across the contracted staff we work alongside every day.”

Tess Lanning, Director, Living Wage Foundation said: “We’re delighted that ROCKWOOL has joined the movement of over 4,500 responsible employers across the UK who voluntarily commit to go further than the government minimum to make sure all their staff earn enough to live on.

“They join thousands of small businesses, as well as household names such as IKEA, Heathrow Airport, Barclays, Chelsea and Everton Football Clubs and many more. These businesses recognise that paying the real Living Wage is the mark of a responsible employer and they, like ROCKWOOL, believe that a hard day’s work deserves a fair day’s pay."
